Smart BART

I was waiting for the BART over the weekend when I noticed that the back of my ticket had a Raiders ad– it was simple and sharp. But wait, an ad?

Since when did BART start selling advertising on tickets? Have there been ads for anything else?

The marketer in me says, “Brilliant! Took them long enough.”

The consumer in me thinks, “Will everything under the sun eventually have an ad slapped on it?"

I’m not sure how many people actually look at their BART tickets. I usually swipe mine then immediately put it in my wallet so I don’t lose it, then it’s eaten by the machine when I exit the station. Still, this is a smart way for BART to make some extra revenue.
